ECTS CREDIT ALLOCATION POLICY

Rovigo Conservatory applies ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) principles.

ECTS credits are based on student‘s workload which is needed to achieve intended learning outcomes. One academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS credits , 30 ECTS credits – to one study semester. Student workload ranges from 1 500 to 1 800 hours for an academic year, and one credit corresponds to 25-30 hours of work. The allocation of ECTS credits to course units has been based on student workload required to achieve the learning outcomes of the course units. Learning outcomes describe what a learner is expected to know, understand and be able to do, after successful completion of a learning process. They relate to level descriptors in national and European qualifications frameworks.

Workload indicates the time students typically need to complete all learning activities (such as workshops, performances, lectures, seminars, projects, practical work, self-study and examinations) required to achieve the expected learning outcomes.

The allocation of ECTS reflects the quantity of work that each course unit requires in relation to the total quantity of work, necessary to successfully complete a course.

ECTS GRADING TABLES

Rovigo Conservatory provides ECTS Grading Tables, which show the statistical distribution of passing and final grades among students of each degree programme, for comparison with other grading systems.

The statistical distribution is based on the Rovigo Conservatory grades given over the previous three years in study programs of the study field of Music and performing arts (ISCED code 0215).

ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE RECOGNITION OF CREDIT MOBILITY AND PRIOR LEARNING

Students who have already carried out educational activities forming part of the chosen degree programme, are eligible to apply for transfer the corresponding ECTS credits upon submission of specific documentation.
The learning outcomes must be achieved and assessed in another institution of tertiary level.
Students may also apply for recognition of the learning outcomes achieved through prior informal or experiential learning like professional and artistic activities.
If the number of transferred credits allows it, it will be possible to shorten the normal duration of the study course, throug the possibility to enrollement to the year following the first.

Rovigo Conservatory ensures  full academic recognition for Erasmus outgoing students: all credits gained during the period of study abroad – as agreed in the Learning Agreement and confirmed by the Transcript of Records – are transferred and counted towards the student’s degree without any additional work by or assessment of the student.
Before outgoing students are leaving, the Learning Agreement is prepared identifying a set of suitable educational components to be taken at the receiving institution, and setting how they will be integrated into the student’s curriculum. The number of credits to be gained at the host institution should be proportionate to the time of study abroad. The student is expected to take educational components of 30 ECTS per semester.
Upon successful completion of the set of educational components included in the Learning Agreement and confirmed by the Transcript of Records sent by the host institution, Rovigo Conservatory will recognise fully the agreed number of ECTS credits and transfer them into the student’s crurriculum no later than 4 weeks after after receiving the Transcript of Records from the host institution. All credits gained during the mobility periodo will be used to satisfy the qualification requirements.

DIPLOMA SUPPLEMENT

All the graduated students of the Francesco Venezze Rovigo Conservatory obtain automatically and free of charge the Diploma Supplement (DS) in accordance with the model developed by the European Commission, Council of Europe and UNESCO. The Diploma Supplement is being issued in Italian and English.
